In every culture’s history we find meaningful rituals that helped our ancestors to express gratitude, welcome new beginnings and mark endings as well as setting intentions. The Celtic believed that the world is a place of constant change and that the wheel of life is in tune with the wheel of nature. In the northern hemisphere, Winter is beginning. It’s the time in which we return to our inner selves and seek rest and inspiration from within.
The cycle of reflection serves to make us realize that we are looking to our soul to rest within ourselves. Just as the tree in autumn, after having dropped the leaves, rests and regenerates in itself to blossom in spring in new vigor.
The days leading up to the holidays are a magical time. I want to share this Ritual with you so that you can practice over the coming days.
Shine Your Light Ritual
Mark winter with a walk outside in nature. Pick up some pine or moose, dried leaves and branches. Bring nature into your home and decorate a tray with lots of hurricane glass, lanterns, scented candles, carnations, cinnamon and your souvenirs from nature. The more light, the better!
Place it in your living room or your home office. Just make sure it is in a place you can see, feel and smell your decorative demonstration of light.
Every day leading up to the holidays, sit down for 10 minutes and light all the candles on your Shine Your Light ritual tray.
Breath a few times deep down into your belly and see how your beautiful light shines from within you. See this golden shimmering light in your heart chakra. Let it grow and shine within you, filling up your physical and energy body, then expanding even further into your whole aura -breath deeply and shine your light!
After a few minutes of normal breathing take this feeling of lightness and glow with you into your day-to-day activities! Doing this regularly this month will help you feel centered and peaceful and loving.
Much Love,
Carollyne
